# Get your first report

> A short path from a narrated recording to timestamped findings.

## 1. Open your workspace

[Sign in](https://lighterjourneys.com/sign-in). If access is invitation-only, request access from the [homepage](https://lighterjourneys.com/) and register with the invited email address.

## 2. Organize the task

In **Projects**, create a project for the product, a goal for the outcome people want, and a journey for one way of reaching it. Put sessions of the same task in the same journey so you can compare them later.

## 3. Record one session

Record two to five minutes of one person doing one task and thinking aloud in English. Capture the full screen and microphone. Use test data and get permission from anyone seen or heard.

## 4. Upload and analyze

On the journey page, choose **Add a session**. You can also upload from **All sessions** and choose the journey there. The upload dialog shows supported limits, required consent and analysis options. A quick check tells you whether the recording can be analyzed. Follow the status shown in the app; processing and queue times vary.

## 5. Review the evidence

Open the report. Start with **Highlights**, click a timestamp to review the recording, and read the transcript around it. Check Beta detections before using them as evidence.

## 6. Compare and save

Add more sessions to the same journey. Compare sessions or groups, then use **Save as finding** when the result tells you something useful.
